QuickBooks Online (QBO) User Training Plus

This is an applied training program that includes four (4) training modules that are delivered in two parts. This training enables users to learn and apply the skills covered to use QBO and/or enhance the use of QBO. As part of this program, participants will be able to access 1x1 instructional support as described below. The topics to be covered: getting started with QBO, connecting to financial institutions, point of sale systems, credit cards, recording transactions, invoicing, receiving payments, recording and tracking expenses, and using QBO to support financial management of a business, including development of reports, reconciliation and optimizing use of QBO. All training and support is virtual and/or by phone.

Date and time:

April 25 & May 2, 2024 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Access to additional instruction and support: In addition to these group user trainings and access to a QBO Specialist, participants may access up to three (3) hours of QBO 1x1 instructional support from an experienced QBO specialist during a period of 90 days following training. Participants also may attend QBO Topics, Tips and Trends Forums (“QBO 3T Forums") to be held virtually in 2024. QBO 3T Forums provide opportunities for participants to learn more about a specific QBO topic, ask questions, and get additional instructional support.

Target Participants: This program provides training and instruction to enable participants to use QBO in their business. This training/instructional support is most suitable for new and newer to QBO users (owner and/or staff).

Expected Learning Outcomes:

Participants completing this training program should be able to:

• Customize use of QBO for a business setting;

• Connect to available financial institutions, point of sale systems, credit cards, etc.;

• Record transactions, invoice customers, record payments;

• Record and track expenses;

• Use more specialized QBO capabilities to track business activities and meet business needs; and

• Conduct financial management including development of reports, reconciliation and optimizing use of QBO.

Should circumstances arise that change program dates or its activities, the program provider, UW-La Crosse SBDC, will contact the program participants.

By registering for this event, the participant grants the program provider, the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center, the Universities of Wisconsin (UW System), and the participating organizations (identified below if any), the right to use, publish, and copyright the images and comments (including print and digital written narratives, materials, audio, video, and still images) in connection with this program for use in connection with program participation (current and future), websites and for promotional and educational purposes. The participant also consents to the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center providing the participant’s contact and attendance information to the program instructors and supporters (such as students), and the participating organizations.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel or transfer your registration up to seven (7) business days before the start date for a refund, less a 15% administrative fee. If you do not show or cancel the day of the event, you are responsible for the full fee. You may substitute another person for your registration up to one business day prior to the event. If space is available in another program session, and as an alternative to cancellation, the program provider may allow a participant to change program date(s). Cancellations, requests, and other notice of changes for this program should be provided in writing by sending an email to sbdc@uwlax.edu.

Supplemental Training and Support. Some training programs provide participants the opportunity to access 1x1 instruction and other support for a specific period following the start of the training program. All supplemental support is at the option of the program participant. Program participants will be informed of when supplemental support is available and how to access such supplemental support as part of the training program and/or other communications with the program provider.
