Enhancing Your Web Presence . . . Building an Effective Online Strategy Plus Workshop

This is a two-part applied training workshop that includes group training and follow on support to enable business to optimize and grow their web presence using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media. As part of this program, participants will be able to access 1x1 instructional and student support as described below. The workshop includes two group training sessions: “Trends and Taking Action to Optimize Your Web Presence” and “Using Social Media to Grow Your Online Presence.” Each training session is 2 hours. All training and support is virtual and/or by phone.

September 16 & 23, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Access to additional instruction and support: Participants may access up to two (2) hours of a marketing professional’s 1x1 instructional support and up to 10 hours of student support for website, marketing and digital marketing assistance to achieve an enhanced web presence during a period of 90 days from the start of the training or the available program support ends, whichever occurs first.

Target Participants: This program is suitable for the business that is seeking to develop or enhance its online presence. The business will have a website but seeks support to optimize its web presence and/or use or expand the use of social media. This program is also suitable for businesses who have developed an online strategy but need support to implement it. This program will be attractive to those that seek to have some follow on instruction and student support to help implement the content covered in the group training to meet their goals.

Expected Learning Outcomes:

Participants completing this training program should be able to:

• Enhance an existing website for use with the business

• Connect marketing activities to use (or enhance use of) social media in connection with the website and the business marketing strategy

• Implement a social media or other marketing plan to build an effective online strategy

• Understand and be able to apply strategies for search engine optimization in connection with the business website

• Apply knowledge to advance the business marketing strategies and create a more effective web presence

Should circumstances arise that change program dates or its activities, the program provider, UW-La Crosse SBDC, will contact the program participants.

By registering for this event, the participant grants the program provider, the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center, the Universities of Wisconsin (UW System), and the participating organizations (identified below), the right to use, publish, and copyright the images and comments (including print and digital written narratives, materials, audio, video, and still images) in connection with this program for use in connection with program participation (current and future), websites and for promotional and educational purposes. The participant also consents to the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center providing the participant’s contact and attendance information to the program instructors and supporters (such as students), and the participating organizations.

MSBB Training Project Eligible - This program is eligible for participant funding for Mainstreet Bounceback (MSBB) grant participants. UW System, and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) are participating organizations in connection with this program. To the extent state funding is available, MSBB grant participants may request that the state fund your participation. Payment of your program fees is contingent on confirmation that you or your affiliated business is a MSBB grant recipient and that you participated in this training program on the date(s) and times(s) scheduled. By registering for this program, you agree that you are a MSBB grant recipient and will attend the program as scheduled. Failure to meet the attendance criteria for a training program may result in your inability to access supplemental support and/or attend other training programs at no cost. Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration up to 5 business days prior to the start of this training program without penalty. If space is available in another program session, and as an alternative to cancellation, the program provider may allow a participant to change program date(s). Cancellations, requests, and other notice of changes for this program should be provided in writing by sending an email to sbdc@uwlax.edu.

Supplemental Training and Support. Some training programs provide participants the opportunity to access 1x1 instruction and other support for a specific period following the start of the training program. All supplemental support is at the option of the program participant. Program participants will be informed of when supplemental support is available and how to access such supplemental support as part of the training program and/or other communications with the program provider.

Fee: $750.00 WEDC will cover registration cost of the class for Main Street Bounceback grant recipients who register for and attend the complete course.
