Strategic AI Applications

Description: A deep dive into real-world applications of AI technology for a variety of industry sectors. Students will learn how to effectively implement AI in the workplace. From entry level to executive leaders, this course will allow for exploration of use cases across an organization for practical purposes that produce effective results in real-time.

Course Goals:

  • Develop a broad understanding of foundational AI concepts, their historical evolution, and their strategic relevance in modern organizations.
  • Identify practical use cases of AI across diverse industries, with emphasis on real- time applications and outcomes.
  • Evaluate opportunities and challenges in implementing AI solutions at various levels of an organization, from frontline operations to executive decision-making.
  • Recognize how tools like generative AI, AutoML, and AI copilots are transforming traditional business workflows, even for non-technical users.
  • Analyze organizational AI strategies and governance considerations through interviews with industry leaders and real-world case studies.
  • Cultivate the ability to communicate AI-driven insights and strategic recommendations using clear, non-technical language appropriate for business stakeholders.

The coursework is available on demand and self-paced. Once you register, you will receive a link and code to access the Canvas Learning Platform. Content is structured into 4-week sessions; however, they are work at your own pace so you don't need to rush to complete the material in that timeframe, it will remain available until December 19, 2025.

Courses do include knowledge checks, exercises and “assignments" to practice using tools with guidance. As a professional development course, these are optional activities to apply concepts and test skills. We encourage participation in as much or as little as you like. Essentially, we want you to practice and learn on your terms and preferences.

Fee: $225.00 WEDC will cover registration cost of the class for Main Street Bounceback grant recipients and eligible small businesses who register for and attend the course.
