Hub for Collaborative Medicine Room A5520/A5628, 5th Floor January 17, 2019 from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM During this workshop, sponsored by the MCW Office of Technology Development, a Technology Consultant from Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC), will cover all aspects of writing NIH SBIR/STTR grants including: • Is SBIR/STTR a fit for me? • Understanding what SBIR/STTR reviewers are looking for • Getting Started with Aims and Significance • Step-by-step guidance on preparing key sections of your proposal • NIH Tips, Do’s and Don’ts • Support options available before, during and after an SBIR/STTR award. Who should attend: • Anyone interested in grant writing as a skill • Anyone planning on submitting an SBIR/STTR proposal in the next 12 months • Individuals interested in learning enough about the program to determine if they are interested in pursuing future submissions • Individuals supporting SBIR/STTR applicants and companies including financial managers, business managers, other administrative personnel Why you should attend: • National averages for NIH SBIR proposal funding are around 17% BUT CTC clients are funded at a rate two to three higher than the national average • CTC support and assistance is FREE to Wisconsin businesses

Arrival Instructions: • Please park in the Visitor Parking on the East side of 87th Street. Ring the buzzer and advise the attendant you are on campus for the NIH SBIR/STTR Grant Writing Workshop. • Walk up the hill toward the silver sculpture in front of the Health Research Center (HRC) Building • Do not enter the HRC, and continue on the side walk toward the new building immediately to the left (labeled “G” on the attached map). • Enter the main entrance of the HUB, take elevators to the 5th floor.
